Standards for Home Education Reimbursement -
Feedback Required by May 3

Alberta Education implemented its Standards for Home Education Reimbursement in October of 2016. Educational resource reimbursements to home educating parents were issued this year using these standards.

Alberta Education is now requesting feedback on how these standards have affected home educators and their effect on supporting/challenging home educators

The Alberta Home Education Association has been asked to provide feedback on behalf of home educators. In order to do so, we are asking for your personal feedback.

1.What are your thoughts and experiences surrounding educational resource reimbursement since the implementation of the 'Standards for reimbursement' began in October

2.How do the standards support or hinder your ability to claim legitimate expenses for your home education program?

3.Are there any considerations/clarifications/changes to the standards that you would recommend?

NOTE: While AHEA does not advocate for funding for home education, we do have the opportunity to provide constructive input into this funding component that has been legislated in the Home Education Regulation
